‘Big Pile’ Of Live Eels Dumped In Lake In NYC Park; Impact Not Yet Known

A jogger named Andrew Orkin discovered a large pile of eels in Prospect Park Lake in New York City. New Yorkers often release non-native animals into New York City, feeling like they are doing a good deed, but it often kills the animals or messes up the local ecosystem. The effect of the eels in the lake are not yet known, but officials are not going to jump to conclusions on how the ecosystem will react to the eels.

Maryland woman goes skydiving for the first time at 102

World War II veteran, Vivian Bailey, crossed “skydiving” off of her bucket list, at the age of 102. Bailey saw President George H.W. Bush skydive at the age of 90, and felt inspired to try it herself. The television show “Honor Flight Heroes” payed for the excursion and featured her on their show.

Swiss town bakes world’s largest Zuger Kirschtorte cake

Zug, Switzerland now holds the record for baking the largest Zuger Kirschtorte cake, which is a cherry cake. The cake weighs 531 pounds and took 55 hours to make. The cake was cut into 3,300 pieces and distributed to the citizens of the town after they measured the cake.
