Lead Styles Notes

- Need to stay up to date

- Inverted pyramid- order of our information when writing a story

• Important info first

- Lead sentence/ paragraph are the same (most important info)

- Second paragraph- expand

- Then move onto body

• Ending happens when you’ve given all info

- Lead- who, what, where, when, how

- Straight news lead- doesn’t have a lot of components, hard news

• Just the facts, don’t embellish

-Summary lead- around 30 words, gist of story

- Blind lead- don’t need to use names
